Author Interview:The Highwayman's Bride by Jane Beckenham

Hello Keisha, thank you for having me today as your guest.

1.What made you want to be a writer?

I do love reading. Always did.  I spent many years in and out of hospital and really it was all I could do for a long time.  And of course I fell in love with romance novels – the usual Barbara Cartland stuff.  Then about 12 years ago when we got our first PC I met a lady on line who was a writer, and she encouraged me…so I did, and I haven’t stopped writing since!

2.Who is your favorite author?

I have a few really.  Sophia James who writes wonderful historicals in the Regency period and medieval.  Then I love too Sandra Hill for her time travel romances, her humor and her super hunky heroes! Currently I reading some Mary Jo Putney, and just loving the ease of her style of writing and her characterization.

3.What is the name of the last book you read?

Well I’m currently reading Mary Jo  Putney’s Nowhere Near Respectable.  It’s part of her Lost Lords series.

Book Spotlight: The Lady of Corpsewood Manor by Hawk McKinney

The Lady of Corpsewood Manor, Book 4 of the Craige Ingram Mystery Series
by Hawk MacKinney

In the spacious den of Moccasin Hollow, his ancestral South Carolina home, part-time PI, exNavy SEAL Craige Ingram examines a platinum brooch designed like a dragonfly inside a jeweler’s box that he has discovered at the crime scene of Corpsewood Manor.  It is a remarkable piece of art…its wings and body worked in exceptional detail. Focusing toward the expected bulbous round eyes, his suspicions jar full throttle. Instead of a head, the empty sockets of a skull leer at him. His gut feelin’s tell him his SEAL buddy Grayson MacGerald’s investigation is considerably more than arson and a double murder trying to hide the theft of classic automobiles. The smoldering rubble of secluded Corpsewood Manor leads Ingram and another of their SEAL Team, Colorado Aspen ski buddy Spinner Krespinak, into a seedy tangle of smuggling crisscrossed and an unexpected encounter with a dead assa…

Author Interview: Paula Altenburg of Black Widow Demon

Today we are talking with Paula of Black Widow Demon

1. What made you want to be a writer?

I never wanted to be a writer. It looked hard. (And it is!) I wanted to be a reader. But I had all of these ideas in my head. The first few times I tried writing them down, I gave up in frustration. Along with being lazy, however, I’m also persistent. One thing led to another, and my family kept encouraging me to stick with it. I have the best family ever. Also, my favorite teacher in high school (English) once told me he’d read anything I wrote. You can’t imagine how encouraging that can be, or how much praise from someone you admire sticks with you when you have little niggly doubts lighting fires in the back of your head. Teachers really do make a difference.

2. Who is your favorite author?

The one who makes me the most jealous is George R.R. Martin. The one I buy without hesitation is Madeline Hunter. I LOVE Madeline Hunter. I hope she lifts that restraining order someday.

3. What is the na…
