Review and Giveaway: Heroes of the City

I have found a great way to teach my little guy that everyone can be a hero in a fun way. He is learning about the different jobs that people can do while be entertained. The DVD takes the children on a fun ride with the rescue vehicles in the town. These include the police car, fire engine, and the ambulance. Heroes of the City shows the children that these vehicles help people and you don't have to be afraid of them. My little guy loved the fire engine and the tractor that came with his DVD and book. His older brother loved reading the book to him. Even though the DVD is geared for ages 3-6 older children can get a good message too. Author Interview and Giveaway with H. A. Somerled of Angel's Betrayal

Image
Author Interview with H.A  Somerled 1. What made you want to be a writer? I like good stories, and telling good stories.  I’ve written stories since I was a child, kept it up throughout my school career, and whenever the wind of inspiration blew up my skirt. 2. Who is your favorite author? I read anyone who is exciting and can make me laugh. Therefore I read a lot of Janet Evanovich, Chuck Palahniuk, and recently started reading Christopher Moore. 3. What is the name of the last book you read I am finishing up “Sacre Bleu” by Christopher Moore.  When I was in high school, I was obsessed with all things French, especially the era of Monet, Manet, Renoir, and Toulouse-Lautrec.  This book that surrounds those painters and the world of Montmartre (My favorite area in Paris) is such a joy to read.  It’s funny and mysterious, plus I like that Moore put his own story to the artists paintings. 4. Tell us about yourself in 3 words? Hilarious Disturbed Individual 5. Wha

Author Interview and Spotlight: p.m terrell of The Pendulum Files

1. What made you want to be a writer? I think somewhere before I was born, it must have been preordained because every road I’ve ever taken has led to writing. When I was a young girl, my family moved to the Mississippi Delta during a particularly violent time in its history. My father was an FBI Agent and as a result, I was ostracized. A school principal noticed that I had no friends and suggested that I begin writing. It opened up whole new worlds for me, and I knew then that I wanted to be a writer. Though life has had its twists and turns, everything has led back to writing. I don’t know what I would do without it. 2. Who is your favorite author? I don’t have favorite authors but I have favorite books. I love the Haunting series by Erin Quinn; The Mummy by Anne Rice; Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer, The Perfect Storm by Sebastian Junger. I love books that take me out of my present situation into worlds I’d otherwise know nothing about. And I love to read about ordinary peo
