Book Spotlight and Giveaway: Something to Lose by Tamra Lassiter

Image
Something to Lose by Tamra Lassiter ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BLURB: Everyone has something to lose. Camden Piotrowski is justifiably upset to find her boyfriend in the arms of another woman. But it’s not the end of her world and definitely not something that a bubble bath, good wine, and cookie dough won’t help. Her pity party is interrupted when handsome Seth Vendetti bursts into her bathroom. She soon discovers that her world and those in it are not as they seem. Can she trust Seth’s version of the truth and make him realize that even he has something to lose? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Excerpt One: His hands form fists that rest on his hips. “Are you threatening an FBI agent?” I hadn’t really thought of it like that, but I’m not backing down. I put my hands on my hips as well and stand on my tippy toes so that my face is close to his. I could use those three-inch heels right about now, but I hold my ground. His body is tight. I see his pulse beating in his neck. “Call it what you wa

Giveaway: Spiderman 2 Prize Pack

Here is the official trailer to The Amazing Spider Man 2 . It looks like it is going to be an awesome movie!   After viewing the trailer, I don't know about you but me and daughter will be going to see this. Looks like a great movie. Do you ever talk to your kids about the lessons that from movies such as the Amazing Spider Man 2? April from Pixie Dust Savings has previewed the The Amazing Spider Man 2 Discussion Guide and thinks it is a great resource for families to use before watching the movie. The guide is 5 pages long and would make a great family devotional. Each section has a Bible verse about the topic being discussed, how it relates to The Amazing Spider Man 2 movie, and then asks about 3 discussion questions. Most of the questions are easy enough for young children to answer, but thought provoking enough to have an engaging conversation with teens and the adults in the family. If you have preschool/kinder aged kids you would need to to bring the questions d

Blogiversary Post #3: Eve Langlais with Giveaway

******Blogiversary****** Today we are chatting with Eve Langlais today. 1. How did you come up with your Shifters series? Which one? Lol. I'll admit I've had a fascination with the paranormal for a long time. The biggest problem years ago was finding books to read that weren't just urban fantasy but held a decent romantic thread that wasn't overshadowed by world building and outside events. When I decided to try writing, it seemed only natural to start creating my own version of how I thought the paranormal world should run, and that included shifters. Yummy, alpha, often pig headed shifters, lol. 2. Which one would you choose Vampires or Werewolves and why? Werewolves. I'm a sunshine loving girl, even if the sun doesn't love me lol. I love the overwhelming masculinity and just raw maleness of a werewolf who is alpha. How he meets his woman and doesn't take no for an answer and uses his animal magnetism to attract her. Sigh… 3. If you could h

Blogiversary# 2: Guest Post with Dani Harper of Storm Bound

Image
New Twist on Celtic Faerie Legends Dani Harper’s new Grim Series is bringing ancient Celtic folklore, hot faeries, and even hotter heroes into modern-day America! Book 1 is Storm Warrior, and Book 2, Storm Bound, has just been released. Book 3, Storm Warned, is underway. I love a good ghost story and a ghost dog story is even better! One of my favorite Welsh folktales provided inspiration for my new Grim Series. The Grim is a legendary canine with many names: the Black Dog, the gwyllgi or barghest, the Dog of Darkness, or even the Hound of Destiny. The faery creature most often resembles a giant mastiff, larger than any living dog, and its eyes are often red and glowing. The original myth dates all the way back to Celtic times in Wales. The Black Dog is Death’s Messenger, and those who see the animal are usually destined to die very soon. The dog appears without warning, follows and sometimes even chases people – yet vanishes without a trace! Electrical st

Ethan: A Kelly Family Novella Officer Ethan Kelly is a nice guy. That’s what all the girls say, right before they toss him aside for one of those bad boys. But when he meets rookie officer, Heather Moss, Ethan is determined to show her that a nice guy knows how to treat a real woman. But Heather isn’t interested. Or at least, she doesn’t want to be. She swore off men a long time ago, and focusing on her career leaves zero room for romance. Even with someone as sweet and sexy as Ethan. But when she saves his life on a robbery call, Heather realizes that he might

Blogiversary Post #1: Author Brenda Novak with Giveaway

****Blogiversary***** I am so proud to to say that I will have been blogging for a year on April 18. We will be celebrating all week. I have author interviews, giveaways, and some fun activities. Blogging started as a way to share my favorite things, and I am happy to say that its still the same goal. To start of the celebration is Author Brenda Novak of the wonderful Whiskey Creek series. 1. Where do you get your inspiration for your Whiskey Creek Series?  Whiskey Creek is a fictional town modeled after Angel’s Camp, Coloma, Jackson, Sutter Creek and others founded during the gold rush in Northern California not far from where I live--so visiting them certainly served as inspiration. Going there is like taking a step back in time a century and a half. It doesn't feel as if much has changed, and I love that! Having such a vivid setting for these books makes them especially fun to write, but it’s the characters that fuel my imagination. Loosely based on my oldest son’s
