Author Interview and Giveaway with Dani Harper of Storm Warrior

Today I had the pleasure to interview my friend and Author Dani Harper: Enjoy 

1. What made you want to be a writer?

I always wanted to be one. As a little kid, before I could even read, I was fascinated with books. Even at that tender age, I had the notion that I wanted to be the person who made the story.

2. Who is your favorite author?

I have so many favorites, and for different reasons, that it’s impossible to list them all. A partial list would include Stephen King, Patricia Briggs, Karen Marie Moning, Karen Chance, JR Ward, Thea Harrison, Kevin Hearne, Jim Butcher, and many, many more.

3. What is the name of the last book you read?

I tend to have several books on the go at any one time. So I just finished a great Steam Punk Paranormal by Bec McMaster called KISS OF STEEL, and totally loved it. Right now I’m nearly at the end of a book called DRAW THE DARK by Ilsa J. Bick --- I sure wish I’d written it!

4. Tell us about yourself in 3 words?

Coffee addicted writer

5. What is your favorite activity?

I adore gardening. I can’t pass by a greenhouse without acquiring more things to plant. My husband and I share an addiction to history, and we need a bumper sticker that reads “We Brake for Museums!”. I also love to draw and paint, but writing doesn’t leave me a lot of time for those.

6. If your book could be made into a movie, which actors would you have play the main two characters?

I’m not very good at picking actors – it’s not the looks that matter as much as the interpretation of the character. I would love to see Gwyneth Paltrow play Morgan Edwards. Chris Hemsworth could be amazing as Rhys.

7. Who is your favorite character in your book?

I have two favorite characters in Storm Warrior – Leo and Ranyon.

8. What's in your TBR (to be read) pile?

Goodies galore! HUNTED, which is Book 6 in Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid Chronicles. I’ll be following that with LOVER AT LAST, Book 11 in JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood. I also have to catch up on the JANE YELLOWROCK series by Faith Hunter. And many, many more. I have a lot of books on my Kindle, but I still have a looming pile of paperbacks on my nightstand. My fear is that they’ll topple one day and crush me in my sleep!

9. What are 3 of your pet peeves?

My husband always gets the TV remote. I wouldn’t mind that, but he flips between shows!

My neighbor’s six cats will not stay out of my garden. I’m considering raising alligators.

There is not enough time to write all the stories I want to write, or read all the books I want to read.

10. What's your favorite ( cats or dogs), ( coffee or tea), and what's your favorite food?

I think cats are living art (except when they are doing bad things in my garden), but sadly I’m allergic to them. Instead, I have been owned by PUGS for many years. Fiona the Pug is currently my executive secretary, and her young assistant Toby is usually watching the screen as I write.

Tea? What’s that? I’m a dedicated follower of the bean… As for food, anything with chocolate on it or coffee in it will be graciously accepted.
