Interview with Emma Right Author of Keeper of Reign

I am please to have Emma Right stop by The Simple Things in Life to chat with me.

1. What made you want to be a writer?

There's no one particular thing. Writing is a part of life--of communicating. It's just a means to get the stories from my brain into someone else's head. Think about it, I put some squiggly things, called words, down on paper, and you read them, understand and react/think about these squiggles. And that's writing! Anyone who writes, in a sense is a writer.

2. Who is your favorite author?

My, there are too many authors to name. From British classic authors like Dickens and Thekaray to authors like Agatha Christie, Harper Lee, Margaret Maud Montgomery and Laura Ingalls….I am an eclectic reader in that i enjoy almost all genres. i even enjoy reading cook books! The only genre I don't read is erotica and some really dark noir. It's a personal preference.

3. What is the name of the last book you read

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

4. Tell us about yourself in 3 words?

Quick, dreamy, multi-tasker

5. What is your favorite activity?

Reading!

6. If your book could be made into a movie? Which actors would you have play the main two characters?
7. Who is your favorite character in your book?

Jules Blaze, is the sixteen-year-old protagonist. He's an Elfie-- a cross-breed between an Elf and a fairy, as all the Elfies in reign are. Jules is the son of a Keeper but he's never thought there was anything special in that, and in fact, sometimes h=wished he never had this added burden of being a Keeper heir. One thing that's special is that he always tries so hard to make a difference. But he has to face so many obstacles and as a youngster he doesn't see the value of family and a safe home until these things were all lost. It was a lesson he had to learn, to gain wisdom and re-learn what was most important to him--his family and his Kingdom. He faced many conflicted decisions, but through perseverance and some smart moves he realized the importance of the Ancient Books and that he had it within him to overcome Whisperer, the main villain in Book 1.

8. What's in your TBR ( to be read) pile?

A Writer's Book of Days: A Spirited Companion and Lively Muse for the Writing Life by Judy Reeves

9. What are 3 of your pet peeves?

Time-wasting, excuses, mean words… and I am sometimes guilty of that, too!

10. What's your favorite ( cats or dogs), ( coffee or tea), and what's your favorite food?

Cats, coffee, Nutella chocolate on tortas bread.

Thank Emma for sharing a little about yourself with my readers.
