Author Interview: Amy Jarecki of Captured by the Pirate Laird

Today we have the pleasure of chatting with Amy author if Captured by the Pirate Laird:

1. What made you want to be a writer?

Pencils. You see, I think I was in the first grade when they had that thick-lined paper where you had to write perfect letters. Once I got that down, I wrote every chance I could get…sometimes I would write a lot, and then I would go for years without writing anything. Now all I do is write—pretty much.

2. Who is your favorite author?

You mean I have to pick only one favorite? I guess I’d have to say Monica McCarty. Her Highland Guard Series is amazing. In the 80’s and 90’s, I read everything I could find by Wilbur Smith.

3. What is the name of the last book you read?

Entwined by Kristen Callihan

4. Tell us about yourself in 3 words?

Focused, loveable hermit.

5. What is your favorite activity?

Writing. Oh…did you mean aside from writing? *grins* Do I really have to pick a favorite? *drums fingers* I guess it would be dancing.

6. If your book could be made into a movie? Which actors would you have play the main two characters?

Henry Cavill to play Laird Calum MacLeod, and Kiera Knightly for Lady Anne.

7. Who is your favorite character in your book?

Calum MacLeod—He’s a pirate laird, dubbed the “Robinhood of Raasay”, and though he’s an outlaw, deep down he’s a good man. But then, he’d never admit that to anyone.

8. What's in your TBR (to be read) pile?

I have a bunch of books on my Kindle I need to read:

Shadow Boxer by Jen Greyson

Forever His by Shelly Thacker

The Chief by Monica McCarty

Outlaw Knight by Elizabeth Chadwick

9. What are 3 of your pet peeves?

No liner in the garbage can.

People who spend the whole time looking at their smart phones when eating a nice dinner out.

Drivers who don’t signal.

10. What's your favorite (cats or dogs), (coffee or tea), and what's your favorite food?
I’m a major dog person. I love Chihuahua’s…I even wrote a contemporary romance entitled Chihuahua Momma! I drink tea, and my favorite food is mangoes.

Thank you for having me visit your blog today!

Wed by proxy to a baron old enough to be her grandfather, Lady Anne trudges up the gangway of a galleon that will deliver her into the arms of a tyrant. Crestfallen, she believes her disastrous life cannot get worse—until she awakes to the blasts of cannon fire.

Facing certain death, Anne trembles in her stateroom while swords clash and the chilling screams of battle rage on the deck above. When a rugged Highlander kicks in her door, she prays for a swift end.

But Laird Calum MacLeod has a reason for plundering the ship—and it’s not a stunning English lass. With no other choice, he takes Anne to his crumbling keep on the isle of Raasay and sends a letter of ransom to her husband. In time, Anne grows to understand MacLeod’s plight and finds it increasingly difficult to resist Calum’s unsettling charm—until the baron sends a reply agreeing to terms.

Ripped from passion that will be forever seared into their souls, will Anne and Calum risk everything for love?
