As mothers we often forget that we have to make sure we are taking care to be at our best to take care of others. We get so wrapped up in daily life that we do not take any time for ourselves. Sometimes we make excuses or feel guilty about doing things for self. But we need to remember to take a few minutes out of our day to please self. Doing my nails  It does not have to be over the top. It could be stopping on the way home to get $1.00 ice cream cone from McDonald's, or picking up your favorite book, or taking the extra 10 minutes in the bathroom to read it (Do not act like you have never done it lol). Reading expands the mind Taking time for self is necessary to maintain mental and physical health. Cup of Tea can warm the heart What activities do you do for self? 

1. What made you want to be a writer? I have always enjoyed writing. I think it is something I was born to do. I recently spoke to a friend who was commenting on the fact that many teachers today don’t teach phonics and spelling because they are afraid it might cause a student to not want to write. I laughed at that. I still remember how my teachers used to make us write and re-write and re-write until I wanted to scream and run away. However, it never caused me to not want to write ever again. No amount of phonics drills, grammar homework, or having to write misspelled words ten times ever changed that. Writing is what I do. 2. Who is your favorite author? Dean Koontz is my go-to guy for contemporary fiction. I can usually count on him to keep me happily reading. I started reading his stuff back when I was pregnant with my twin sons; they are twenty-one now. So, it’s safe to say he’s my favorite. 3. What is the name of the last book you read? Some say that summer is the best time of the year. You can get out in the sun, open the windows for fresh air, and inhale all the sweet smelling flowers. Although I love Christmastime, the summer is my favorite time of the year. There are great activities to do without spending a bunch of money. Fishing (check your local DNREC page, on price) Local Beach (we have one 10 min from the house we can sit and play all day) Art Museums (some have children summer programs) ( Museums in your area ) Local Library (most have reading programs) ( Libraries in your area ) Camps (Camp can be expensive check to see if they offer scholarships) Picnic at the park  Movie and Popcorn night Spa day (do nails, do mani and pedi) Start a indoor/outdoor garden  These are just a few things that we do, what are some of the activities that you do during the summer.
