Breast cancer screening and treatment: One size doesn't fit all.





Breast Cancer is the second leading cause of death among women. Beast Cancer is when you have malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the breast. These cells can also spread outside the breast tissue as well.



Symptoms of Breast Cancer:
  • New lump in the breast or armpit
  • Swelling of part of the breast
  • Nipple discharge (not breast milk)
  • Breast pain
  • Flaky or redness around the nipple area or the breast
* These are not all the risk factors but some, always talk to your doctor about breast health and any concerns*


 Some risk factors of Breast Cancer:
  • Age
  • Family history of cancer
  • Limited physical activity
  • Being overweight
Reducing some of the risk:
  • Maintaining a healthy weight
  • Regular exercise
  • Be aware of the risk factor associated with your birth control
How is Breast Cancer detected:
  • Mammogram
  • Breast Ultrasound
  • MRI
  • Biopsy
Treatments:
  • Chemotherapy
  • Surgery
  • Hormonal Therapy

  4. I can't wait for the cooler weather. It's still hot enough for shorts and air conditioning here. I like the crisp Fall evenings when we can walk through the crunchy leaves.
