Tea Week Post # 2: Author Interview and Book Spotlight and Giveaway with Shannon Mayer
Today I had the pleasure of chatting with Shannon. Her books are wonderful. There is nothing ( maybe except sweets) that goes better with a cup of tea then a book. So since we are doing tea week, I would like to introduce you to an author that's books go great with any teas.
1. What made you want to be a writer?
I wanted to create worlds that I wanted to live in. It started for me when I read the Chronicles of Narnia, and then Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series. I fell in love with the worlds of fantasy and wanted to make my own.
2. Who is your favorite author?
Jacqueline Carey (at the moment)
3. What is the name of the last book you read
"Flowers in the Attic" My mother forbid me from reading it when I was in my early teens and I'd forgotten about it until I saw all the ads for the new TV Series. Seeing as I'm not 13 anymore, I decided to rebel and read the 'scandalous' book. Not near as bad as I went in thinking it was going to be lol.
4. Tell us about yourself in 3 words?
Quirky, mellow, country girl :)
5. What is your favorite activity?
I don't have time for much other than my writing. I like to hike and try to take the time for myself to do that at least five days a week.
6. If your book could be made into a movie? Which actors would you have play the main two characters?
Oh, I LOVE Jennifer Lawrence, she's so spunky and honestly has a great talent for acting and I think she would ROCK Rylee's character. As for Liam, I lean towards Channing Tatum. He's played cops and FBI agents before and does such a great job at those parts. That choice has nothing to do with how much of a drool factor he causes. Nothing at all ;0)
*** I could so see them playing the parts would be on my to watch list****
7. Who is your favorite character in your book?
For sure, it has to be Rylee. She really is the flip side of my personality and I love to work with her character.
8. What's in your TBR ( to be read) pile?
Divergent by Veronica Roth. I just purchased the first one so that is next on my list. Curious to read it before the movie comes out.
9. What are 3 of your pet peeves?
Lack of punctuality, liars, and promise breakers
10. What's your favorite ( cats or dogs), ( coffee or tea), and what's your favorite food?
I have a cat and a dog, but if I had to pick I love cats just a smidge more. They are more independent which is nice when you have a busy life style. And they don't care if you leave them alone with a bowl of food and water for a weekend :) I am a chai tea nut, I love the stuff. But it can't be any of that weak stuff, it MUST be an infusion of some sort lol. Favorite food of ALL time is fresh baked home made bread. That is my ultimate comfort food.
Book Blurb:
"My name is Rylee, and I am a Tracker."
When children go missing, and the Humans have no leads, I'm the one they call. I am their last hope in bringing home the lost ones. I salvage what they cannot.
I'm on the FBI's wanted list. I have a werewolf for a pet, a Witch of a best friend, and I have no need for anyone else in my life.
But when a salvage starts to spin out of control, help comes from a most unexpected direction. One that is dangerously dark, brooding, and doesn't know a thing about the supernatural.
One whose kisses set me on fire....
