Tea Week Post#3-Tea Sets
We can't have Tea Week without talking about how to throw a good Tea Party. I know for me I love to host a tea party. You get to spend time with your friends and eat great food. Who can beat that.
After you have set a date and invited your guest. It's time to plan your menu. In traditional tea parties they usually have finger sandwiches, quiches, and mini desserts. But you have to make the tea party fit your style. The first tea party I ever thru we had finger sandwiches and mini desserts. It was wonderful, but I have changed it up. We have had soup, salads, quiches, parfait, and pies. I go with what I feel for that day. My goal is for my guest to have fun.
Last year I did a Mother's day tea party. It was the the best I have thrown to date. My Grandmother was able to come, it made my whole day. My Grandmother does not live in my area so it was a real treat. When everyone can in they had a place card with their name on it and a Mother's day gift that was personalised to fit the person.
Some would say all your tea cups have to match, but sometimes it is fun to mix and match. Set out your sets and let everyone pick their own. I have a variety of tea set and I collect them from any and everywhere. The best places are thrift shops or yard sales. I have one that actually came from China it's beautiful.
I hope you have enjoyed my posting on hosting a great tea party. If you have any questions or stories to share about tea parties you have hosted please share.
