Author Interview and Book Spotlight: The Lycan Hunter by Kelsey Jordan

1. What made you want to be a writer?

I started writing poetry in my teens as a form of meditation. I don’t think I actively sought out being a writer until I met my husband who paints and showed me it was okay to embrace the less practical lifestyle of an artist.

2. Who is your favorite author?

I find it hard to pick a single artist as a favorite because I like so many for different reasons. My top three would be G.A. Aiken (Dragon Kin series), Karen Marie Moning (Fever series) and J.R. Ward (Black Dagger Brotherhood)

3. What is the name of the last book you read?

Down with Cupid by Melissa Blue

4. Tell us about yourself in 3 words?

I am: goofy, creative, and curious.

5. What is your favorite activity?

I’m pretty boring. I like to read and take naps. I may have been a cat in my past life.

6. If your book could be made into a movie? Which actors would you have play the main two characters?

I’ve actually never given this question any thought. If I had to choose, I think I’d want some relative unknowns playing the roles. I don’t know who they are, but I can’t think of anyone off-hand to be in it. The only person I’d want to cast is Jason Momoa, but he doesn’t have to act. I just want to ogle him. LOL.

7. Who is your favorite character in your book?

My favorite is Lykil, but I think that is based on the fact that I know his backstory. He really is an interesting dude.

8. What's in your TBR (to be read) pile?

My TBR pile is a chaotic mess. I’m behind on a few series so I will probably read Reaver by Larissa Ione and make some headway in The Godspeaker Trilogy by Karen Miller, which is crazy long.

9. What are 3 of your pet peeves?

I hate hearing “conversate” used as if it is a word. It drives me insane. People who don’t understand how to use a blinker.  Finally, it’s no secret that I don’t like mornings. Anything before 9am is too early to be a decent human being.

10. What's your favorite (cats or dogs), ( coffee or tea), and what's your favorite food?

Cats, though I’m allergic to them, coffee only if it’s a frappe or some other fancy type of drink (tea is only good as sweet tea), and my favorite food will probably be chips and salsa. I’m from Texas. I can’t help it.

Kelsey Jordan is the author of The Lycan Hunter, the first book in her Gardinian World series. Though she has a preference for all things paranormal and romantic, Kelsey admits she just writes what her muse demands of her. It’s less painful that way. When she isn’t enjoying the momentary benefits of playing god to the many characters that live in her head, she can usually be found curled up with a book, killing something in a video game, or spending time with her family. At some point in the day she is probably drinking more than her recommended dose of coffee, but don’t tell her that. She doesn’t care about recommended servings.
