1. What made you want to be a writer?

The stories rolling around in my head wouldn't stop, stories I wanted to read  so I finally decided to try my hand at the writing thing although I have always written, from poetry, journals, and even starting but never finishing stories.

2. Who is your favorite author?

Probably Ray Bradbury. It’s hard to decide, but he’s such a brilliant writer.

3. What is the name of the last book you read?

Cabal by Clive Barker. It’s the book from which his movie Nightbreed was based. A good, underrated horror movie.

4. Tell us about yourself in 3 words?

Overly introspective Fangirl.

5. What is your favorite activity?

Going to the zoo with my six-year old son.

6. If your book could be made into a movie? Which actors would you have play the main two characters?

Rachel McAdams for Ruby and Henry Cavill for Ewan, because he is Superman after all.

7. Who is your favorite character in your book?

No fair! Right now, it’s Lysander, the vampire, but tomorrow it will probably be someone else!

8. What's in your TBR ( to be read) pile?

Lots of books by author friends, a new historical romance by Elizabeth Essex, and Blackbeard by August Konstan to name a few.

9. What are 3 of your pet peeves?

Hypocrisy, rudeness, and crappy coffee.

10. What's your favorite ( cats or dogs), ( coffee or tea), and what's your favorite food?

I’m actually a bird person and have a beautiful yellow-shouldered Amazon parrot. She loves to make her way to my computer when I’m writing and see what all the fuss is about. I’m slowly making the painful

transition to tea. I’ve been an avid coffee drinker for years, but have to now cut out the caffeine due to stomach issues. I love Sushi.

Mimi Sebastian raised herself on books and the strange and unusual, and an unhealthy dose of comics and movies. When a career as a punk guitarist failed to materialize, she completed her degree in urban planning, spent two years in the Ivory Coast with the Peace Corps, and another three years in Brazil. By day, she debates the merits of transport oriented development, by night she writes about necromancers and pirates. She’s convinced she could live off coffee, ice cream, and comic books, but is sure only one of those is good for her health.

She's a member of Romance Writers of America and the Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal chapter of RWA. A transplant from the beaches of Florida, Mimi now wanders the desert in Phoenix, AZ, and attempts to balance writing with a day career, fantastic family, and household diva: her Amazon parrot.

Hello Keisha, thank you for having me today as your guest. 1.      What made you want to be a writer? I do love reading.
